"The Faces of Unborn Butterflies" is not your conventional novel. It offers an untraditional and exquisite reading experience, showcasing life as it is—messy, simply happening—giving us the only two choices: get lost in the past or build our way through the present. This is a novel on HERE and NOW.

Written by Mariela G. George, this deeply moving and thought-provoking novel masterfully tackles a multitude of societal issues while navigating the complexities of trauma, loneliness, and the quest for self-discovery. It weaves an intricate narrative that delves into the lives of its characters, skillfully employing metaphors and poetry to convey profound messages about human existence, relationships, and personal growth. These literary devices add layers of depth to the storytelling, inviting readers to reflect on the broader implications of the characters' experiences.

The story primarily follows Investigator Adriana Denkova, a Bulgarian immigrant who has spent two decades in the United States. Adriana's journey serves as the focal point through which the author explores various themes, including the harrowing realities of domestic violence, the challenges faced by law enforcement officers, and the lasting scars of trauma. However, it's not just Adriana's story; it's a sequence of events that intertwines the destinies of numerous characters, each representing a unique facet of the human experience.

"The Faces of Unborn Butterflies" is a novel with an exceptionally original narrative approach. The dynamically unfolded themes, natural dialogues, and light, engaging style filled with energy captivate and reveal the intricately woven psyche of the author. Moreover, the theme is highly relevant in our contemporary society. The book brings to the forefront the pressing issue of domestic violence in our society, not only raising the question of the necessity of public recognition of the problem but also the need to change the ways in which we, as a society, treat those affected by domestic violence. This is a purpose-driven book. With an open heart, I highly recommend this novel as deserving of your attention and high praise.

Pain! Despair! Pain again! Happiness! Loss! Redemption! Hope! Strength! Love! These are just a few of the emotions I experienced while reading Mariela George's book, "The Faces of Unborn Butterflies." From the first lines, it's as if someone grabs you by the throat and shakes you vigorously. You inhale and keep reading. The images, the scenes, the emotions intertwine in an extraordinary way, and you simply can't stop reading. Exceptionally well-structured, each scene, each emotion flows into the next in an amazing manner. For a moment, you feel like the main character is one, then you realize they are many. So many victims of sinister domestic violence! Their fates seem alike, yet at the same time, utterly different. Described through the eyes of an officer who arrives first at the scene of the crime, who first absorbs the blow of the victims' pain, unhappiness, and despair. It's impossible not to be touched! As a crime journalist with over 15 years of experience, who has covered hundreds of cases of domestic violence, I highly recommend Mariela George's book. It will keep you on edge, delve into your mind, envelop your consciousness, and ultimately show you that there is always a way to stand up and take a step forward! And it will teach society how to embrace and open its heart to the victims, accepting them as equals and as one of us!

As I delved into the book, the opening line stirred an overwhelming wave of emotion, evoking tears beyond control. With each word thereafter, the narrative unfolded like piercing arrows, breathing life into the characters before my eyes. Through her pen, the author meticulously crafts the psychological portrait of the abuser, delving into motives and painting vivid scenes of daily life. Against the backdrop of our society's ignorance, fragile and delicate butterflies symbolize resilience, their wings breaking with each futile attempt to soar into eternity. This book possesses a multitude of transformative qualities. It serves as a beacon of hope and support for those ensnared in the grip of violence, empowering them to break the silence and challenge the grim statistics plaguing our society. The gripping plot not only captivates readers but also contributes to fostering a socially conscious community, one we aspire to build. Mariela George's prose wields a dual nature, simultaneously beautiful and cruel. Through the conduit of the main character, Adriana, she leads us on a journey as though gently guiding us by the hand, immersing us in narratives that spring to life through cinematic language, stimulating our imagination and igniting our senses. This is made possible by the author's profound sensitivity to language, harnessing the power of words, deft employment of literary devices, and masterful narrative construction. These compelling qualities render the book a deserving masterpiece destined to touch the hearts of countless readers.
